Contaminated / Hazmat diving

Commercial diving is not always located in clean-water environments. Contaminated & HAZMAT diving is not uncommon for commercial diving as inspection of sewers, storage tanks, and pipelines is essential to ensure all structures are sturdy and sound. To do this, divers must enter these hazardous locations to perform the inspection whether the contents of the tanks are present or not.

Protected by a vulcanized rubber drysuit and dive hat that prevents any contents from touching the diver, a diver can enter any substance and perform an inspection of the structure it is in. Semper has performed dozens of contaminated / HAZMAT dives and is the Boston Water and Sewer Commission’s service provider in sewer and manhole inspections in the greater Boston area.
